After all, it was founded all the way back in 1996 and managed to become one of the 100 most popular sites in the U.S. by the late 2000s. But despite its obvious popularity, it’s never managed to break into mainstream consciousness like Tinder or Hinge.
The attack exploited the gap between what developers think they are installing (a specific version of Cline) and what actually executes (arbitrary lifecycle scripts from the package and everything it transitively installs).
